During the cold season, there are a range of winter sports facilities all within walking distance. These include tracks for cross-country skiing, tobogganing and ski lifts and slopes with varying degrees of difficulty. There is a cable car so you can travel easily to the top of the mountain. Within the village there is the opportunity to rent equipment for cycling, winter sports and scuba diving.

 Mariazellerland, as the region is called, surprises visitors not only with its grand nature, but also with its great cultural and culinary offerings. There is a long tradition of sugar bakery and locally brewed beer. As a guest, you have the opportunity to taste your way through the diverse Austrian cuisine in one of the numerous village inns. These regularly use locally sourced raw materials from the region’s many farmhouses.

 Art and culture for all ages can be found in Mariazell. The village is well known for its unique cathedral, also called the basilica, and is well worth a visit. In addition, there are numerous sport and music events throughout the year.  The apartment consists of a living room with sofa and TV, kitchen with dining area, bathroom with shower, WC, hallway, one double bedroom and another bedroom with two separate beds. There is a spacious balcony in a sunny position. The apartment is located in a family home, but has its own entrance and, if needed, there is access to toys, a high chair, a cot, and laundry facilities. A parking space in front of the house is included and you can store sports items in a sheltered outbuilding.

 You will find that Mariazell is a summer and winter paradise with peace and quiet if desired, but also with great opportunities for the active visitor.
